Baseball Game Preview: D.H. Conley Vikings vs. Pinecrest Patriots

The D.H. Conley Vikings will square off against the Pinecrest Patriots on Tuesday. D.H. Conley will be looking to extend their current 22-game winning streak.

D.H. Conley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over New Hanover.

Conner Berry tossed a big game, not allowing a single hit and allowing only one earned run while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Ethan Stewart was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Ethan Medhus was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pinecrest). They blew past Gray's Creek 22-13 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

D.H. Conley pushed their record up to 24-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Pinecrest, their win bumped their record up to 20-8.

D.H. Conley beat Pinecrest 5-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2015. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
