Basketball Recap: Adyson Sargent's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Blackford over Eastbrook

Blackford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Eastbrook Panthers, falling 43-19. If the Bruins were looking for revenge after losing 62-58 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Blackford's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adyson Sargent, who posted two points and four steals. That's the most steals Sargent has posted since back in November of 2024.

Mia Bustos continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Eastbrook, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Bustos is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 18 games she's played. Makayla Fox was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Blackford's loss dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Eastbrook, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.

Blackford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eastbrook, they will face off against Madison-Grant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastbrook is facing Madison-Grant at the right time seeing as Madison-Grant is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
