Baseball Recap: Hoover Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hoover's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Perry Panthers on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Hoover saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Wilkinson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Perry, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record this season.

While Hoover had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
