Basketball Game Preview: Mountain Pointe Pride vs. Campo Verde Coyotes

Mountain Pointe is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Campo Verde is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mountain Pointe Pride will host the Campo Verde Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Pointe will be strutting in after a win while Campo Verde will be coming in after a loss.

Mountain Pointe is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 90-76 victory over Chaparral on Wednesday. Given the Pride's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Firebirds are ranked 146th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Campo Verde unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were beaten by Notre Dame Prep 75-37.

Mountain Pointe is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Campo Verde, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.
