Chaparral has no trouble against Del Sol

Recap: Chaparral Cowboys vs. Del Sol Dragons

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Foothill, the Chaparral Cowboys were happy to have found some success on Monday. Everything went their way against Del Sol as Chaparral made off with a 53-27 win. That looming 53-27 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Chaparral yet this season.

Qualib Ghallab was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Ghallab is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rayshawn Armstead, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.

Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Landaverde, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Jaeden Alexander was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals.

Del Sol struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Chaparral racked up 14 assists.

Chaparral's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15. As for Del Sol, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Chaparral won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pahrump Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Chaparral is ranked 58th, while Pahrump Valley is ranked 79th). As for Del Sol, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Cimarron-Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on February 1st. Cimarron-Memorial is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season.
