Basketball Game Preview: Southampton Indians vs. Greensville County Eagles

Southampton hasn't had much luck against Greensville County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Southampton Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Greensville County Eagles at 6:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Southampton ended up a good deal behind Windsor and lost 38-24.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Lamaria Gary, who posted six points. Demariah Reed was another key player, putting up six points.

Meanwhile, Greensville County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 39-8 victory over the Dragons. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 30 points or more this season.

Greensville County pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.2 points per game. As for Southampton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
