With a playoff win on the line, Central Christian rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past Logan/Palco, posting a 56-0 win. Fans of the Cougars have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Piercen Huff had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries, while also picking up 40 receiving yards. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles and defending two passes. Calvin Barnett was another key player, picking up 76 receiving yards and two TDs.
Central Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Luke Eigsti picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Central Christian's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 49.0 points this season. As for Logan/Palco, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Coming up, Central Christian will challenge Victoria on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cougars 2.8, the Knights 4.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Logan/Palco does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
