South Davidson is 8-2 against North Rowan since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The South Davidson Wildcats will take on the North Rowan Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. South Davidson has given up an average of 14 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

South Davidson is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Gray Stone Day, falling 14-3.

Meanwhile, North Rowan lost 20-7 to Albemarle on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cavaliers have suffered against the Bulldogs since March 24, 2017.

Ethan Prange made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Cauble, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Even though they lost, North Rowan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .517 or higher in three consecutive matches.

South Davidson now has a losing record of 2-3. As for North Rowan, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South Davidson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .474. However, it's not like North Rowan struggles in that department as they've averaged .528. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went South Davidson's way against North Rowan in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as South Davidson made off with a 24-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Davidson since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
