Montrose had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Durango Demons with a sharp 35-14 win on Friday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.

Despite the loss, Durango still got an impressive performance from Grady Feeney, who rushed for 115 yards and one score, and also threw for 119 yards on 11 of 24 attempts.

Looking ahead, Montrose will square off against Greeley West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Durango, they will challenge Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
