Baseball Game Preview: Salem Hills Skyhawks vs. Springville Red Devils

For the second straight game, Salem Hills will face off against Springville. The Skyhawks will take on the Red Devils at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Salem Hills has three straight victories, Springville has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Salem Hills is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Springville 17-6. The Skyhawks not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 20th (when they won 16-1).

Guss Johnson was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Kaleb DeGraffenried was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Salem Hills lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Springville's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Salem Hills, their win bumped their record up to an identical 11-15.
