Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for North Point

North Point's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Great Mills Hornets as they made off with a 14-4 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the game before.

Alyssa Blaney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She also put up four hits, which were her first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Aminah Ayyad was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Scott, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

North Point pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Great Mills, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

North Point has already played their next match, a 17-1 loss against La Plata on the 26th. As for Great Mills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-0 defeat against Huntingtown on the 26th.
