Baseball Recap: River Forest Takes a Loss

River Forest extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 7-6 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies. If the Ingots were looking for revenge after losing 5-1 to the Mustangs & Fillies when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Kouts, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs & Fillies, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

For Kouts' part, Owen Garavalia tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Garavalia has posted since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Billy Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Ben Finney was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

River Forest has already played their next game, an 8-2 victory against Wheeler on the 28th. Kouts has also already played their next match (against South Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
