Baseball Game Preview: Ramsey Rams vs. Paramus Spartans

The Ramsey Rams will head out to challenge the Paramus Spartans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ramsey is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Ramsey barely beat Northern Highlands the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over the Highlanders on Friday. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ramsey got a great performance from Mason Greenberg as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, Greenberg posted three strikeouts, the most he's had over his last six games.

On the hitting side, Sean Sailer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Connor McNally, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Ramsey kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Paramus sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Kinnelon on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Ramsey's record now sits at 12-7. As for Paramus, their record is now 6-14.

Ramsey got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 against Paramus by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
