After a string of five wins, Powhatan's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Midlothian Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Powhatan's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Midlothian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Powhatan and Midlothian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Indians will challenge James River Midlothian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (48 vs. 169). Meanwhile, Midlothian (ranked 15th) will meet St. Catherine's (ranked 79th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
