Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gray's Creek). They managed a 58-53 victory over the Jack Britt Buccaneers on Friday. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 44-28 loss the last time these two teams met.

Gray's Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Naria Wright led the charge by putting up 13 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatyana Smith, who posted seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Gray's Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jack Britt only racked up seven assists.

Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aaliyah Mcrae, who went 8 for 13 en route to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Mcrae a new career-high. Desaya Ellis was another key player, posting 12 points and seven boards.

Gray's Creek is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Jack Britt, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
