Softball Game Preview: Pike Liberal Arts Patriots vs. Luverne Tigers

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Luverne Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Pike Liberal Arts will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Goshen on Thursday. Pike Liberal Arts was the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Goshen. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Patriots yet this season.

Haylie Brown was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Sarah Strickland, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Pike Liberal Arts always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Luverne and Ariton finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 tie on Tuesday.

Luverne's draw makes their record 1-2-1 this season. As for Pike Liberal Arts, their record now sits at 3-6.
