Mariposa County barely beat Waterford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Grizzlies never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Grizzlies have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Laten Butler was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Carmine Sandoval, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Mariposa County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Waterford, they moved to 8-13 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
