Softball Game Preview: Gibbs Gladiators vs. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes

Gibbs is 0-4 against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic since February of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Gladiators will host the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. Gibbs has given up an average of 26.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gibbs is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season last Wednesday. They lost 19-4 to Boca Ciega.

Meanwhile, Bishop McLaughlin Catholic made easy work of Anclote on Wednesday and carried off a 17-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hurricanes.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic got a massive performance out of Catherine Bell, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Bell has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sophie Sanchez, who scored three runs and stole six bases while going 3-for-5.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Gibbs, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Gibbs might still be hurting after the 36-16 defeat they got from Bishop McLaughlin Catholic when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Gladiators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
