Football Recap: Marion County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Marion County lost against Hubbertville back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Raiders had to suffer through a 61-28 loss at the hands of the Lions.

Several Red Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Roman Bellamy, who picked up 45 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Marion County also got a significant boost from Samuel Taylor, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.

Hubbertville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Blaize Wakefield, who threw for 137 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes. The Lions' leading receiver William Rushing was Wakefield's top target yet again, picking up 69 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Marion County now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Hubbertville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Marion County will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brilliant at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Hubbertville, they will challenge Holy Spirit Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
