Soccer Game Preview: Richmond vs. Torrey Pines

Richmond is 0-3 against Torrey Pines since December of 2018 but things could change on Friday. Both will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Thursday, Richmond and Albany finished up their game with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Torrey Pines challenged San Pasqual on Thursday. Torrey Pines fell just short of San Pasqual by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 42nd).

Richmond's draw makes their record 1-1-2 this season. As for Torrey Pines, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Richmond came up short against Torrey Pines when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 4-2. Can Richmond avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
