Soccer Game Preview: Wharton vs. Strawberry Crest

The Wharton Wildcats will square off against the Strawberry Crest Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wharton's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wharton fell victim to Newsome and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against Wolves, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Wolves are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, Strawberry Crest came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Riverview 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Chargers were the better team in the second half.

Strawberry Crest's record is now 9-3. As for Wharton, the defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 9-3-2.
