Basketball Recap: Heritage Continues Road Dominance on Friday

After losing to Campbell County the last time they met, Heritage decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Heritage Mountaineers came out on top against the Campbell County Cougars by a score of 59-48 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountaineers.

Despite the loss, Campbell County still got an impressive performance from Luke Browning, who posted 20 points and eight rebounds. Browning is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Cox, who scored 11 points and five boards.

Heritage pushed their record up to 19-9 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points over those games. As for Campbell County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will challenge Lenoir City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Campbell County, they will host Varsity Opponent at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
