Volleyball Recap: Live Oak Comes Up Short

After flying high against James Lick last Wednesday, Live Oak came back down to earth. The Acorns fell just short of the San Jose Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Acorns were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Live Oak took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 0-25, 25-0, 0-25, 25-0, 15-0.

Live Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for San Jose, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Live Oak will face off against Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Acorns are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for San Jose, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Lincoln on the 8th.
