Football Recap: Notre Dame Starts Season with Win on the Road

Notre Dame had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Grace Baptist Academy Golden Eagles, posting a 73-0 win.

Notre Dame's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Campbell, who threw for 203 yards and five touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave Campbell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Woodley, who gained 125 total yards and two touchdowns.

Notre Dame didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trell Taylor and Colton Deprima. Deprima got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will host Rhea County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grace Baptist Academy, they will square off against East Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
