Softball Recap: Burgin Bulldogs vs. Danville Admirals
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Danville Christian Academy, Burgin was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 27-10 margin over the Danville Admirals. The contest marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season so far.
Jemma Jenkins was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Jenkins was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with six RBI, two triples, and two stolen bases. Those triples were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Leah Jenkins was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaydance Logue, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Burgin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .638. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Burgin's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Danville, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
