Softball Game Preview: Yorktown Wildcats vs. Port Aransas Marlins

The Yorktown Wildcats will head out to take on the Port Aransas Marlins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Yorktown has given up an average of 15.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Yorktown came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-4 to Woodsboro. The Wildcats have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Sydnie Krueger was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Port Aransas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Kenedy 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Marlins have posted since February 14th.

Port Aransas' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-12. As for Yorktown, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Yorktown suffered a grim 28-13 defeat to Port Aransas in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
