Softball Recap: Macdonald Extends Winning Streak to Four

MacDonald came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Lynbrook Vikings by a score of 7-2.

Ileyah Sanchez was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Kyleena Stone was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

MacDonald pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lynbrook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

MacDonald and Lynbrook will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Condor see the field they'll take on Cupertino at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Lynbrook, their break will end when they face Palo Alto at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
