Baseball Recap: Pendleton County Comes Up Short

If Pendleton County was feeling good fresh off their 16-7 takedown of Tucker County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcat came up short against the East Hardy Cougars on Wednesday, falling 15-1. The Wildcat haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Pendleton County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Pendleton County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for East Hardy, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Coming up, Pendleton County will challenge Bath County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcat are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for East Hardy, they will head out on the road to face off against Tucker County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
