Tylin Oakes Tops All Others This Week

Starting off the list is Rains's Tylin Oakes, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Oakes rushed for three yards.

Rains' victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. Oakes' next game is against Winnsboro on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

Dawson Witherspoon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mount Vernon over Rains

Dawson Witherspoon continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his third-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 131 rushing yards. He picked up 26 receiving yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 131 yards.

Mount Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. Witherspoon and Mount Vernon will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Winnsboro at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.
