Football Preview: Fillmore Central Panthers vs. Superior Wildcats

Fillmore Central and Superior are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2014, but not for long. The Fillmore Central Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Superior Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fillmore Central is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.

Things were looking good for Fillmore Central after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell to Wilber-Clatonia 33-28.

Despite their loss, Fillmore Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Preston Komenda, who threw for 183 yards and three touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Daniel Stoner helped Komenda out on the ground, picking up 60 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 44 yards.

Meanwhile, Superior fell victim to Grand Island Central Catholic and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Crusaders 49-0. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fillmore Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Superior, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Fillmore Central suffered a grim 27-7 defeat to Superior when the teams last played back in October of 2021. Thankfully for Fillmore Central, Dane Miller (who rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 68 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
