Given Wayne Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Lakeland Regional is ranked 342nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Lakeland Regional lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyler Lynn. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points. Justin Meakem was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.
Wayne Hills' win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Lakeland Regional, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Wayne Hills will head out on the road to face off against NV - Old Tappan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lakeland Regional, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against West Milford at 1:00 p.m.
