Baseball Recap: Salem Sundevils vs. Ocean Lakes Dolphins
Salem extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-9. They lost 20-0 to the Ocean Lakes Dolphins. If the Sundevils were looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to the Dolphins when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Ocean Lakes, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Ocean Lakes' part, Tre Hamilton was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Hamilton posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other pitching news, Daniel Hamilton looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Ocean Lakes got a massive performance out of Seinko Augins, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Augins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Nagle, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Salem is set to face off against their familiar foe Kempsville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Ocean Lakes will take on rival Landstown at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
