Gridley is a perfect 10-0 against Live Oak since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. Gridley will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Gridley's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They breezed past Oroville to the tune of 39-0. Considering the Bulldogs have won three games by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Gridley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eli Punzo, who rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown on only five carries, and also threw for 33 yards and a pair of TDs. Punzo got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 54 yards. Another back making a difference was Marcus Duncan, who rushed for 117 yards and one score on only 15 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Gridley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Live Oak's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were outmatched by Corning and fell 42-14. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gridley's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Live Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Gridley against Live Oak when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-3 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
