Softball Game Preview: Nederland Bulldogs vs. Lee Ganders

Nederland is a perfect 6-0 against Lee since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Nederland will head out to challenge Lee at 6:00 p.m. Lee took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Nederland, who comes in off a win.

Nederland is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Beaumont United with a sharp 19-1 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won six in a row.

Grace Seigrist and Kaylee Baker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Seigrist tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Baker tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Seigrist scored three runs while going 2-for-3, while Baker got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and four RBI. Those three runs gave Seigrist a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hope Foster was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Reese Robbins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Lee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 12-4 to Port Neches-Groves.

Tara Archibald made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Lee's loss dropped their record down to 1-11-1. As for Nederland, their record now sits at 14-4.

Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Nederland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like Lee struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Nederland took their win against Lee when the teams last played on March 7th by a conclusive 12-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nederland since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
