After a string of five wins, Raleigh's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 8-2 to the Puckett Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 5-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Haylee Buffington was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Raleigh's loss dropped their record down to 9-13-1. As for Puckett, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Raleigh will square off against Seminary at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Puckett, they will take on Pelahatchie at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolves are facing the Chiefs at the right time seeing as the Chiefs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
