Softball Game Preview: Lutheran Crusaders vs. Winnebago Indians

Lutheran is 0-10 against Winnebago since May of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Crusaders will host the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Lutheran has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lutheran fell victim to Rock Falls and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Rockets, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Crusaders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Winnebago had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The game marked the Indians' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Winnebago, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Lutheran suffered a grim 23-0 defeat to Winnebago in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
