Foothill is 9-1 against Enterprise since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. Foothill will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
It was a proper cat-fight when Foothill challenged University Prep on Thursday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-2 victory. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Elisea Wiegand made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Wiegand wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Nichols, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those three hits gave Nichols a new career-high. Addyson Cheney was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Foothill hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as University Prep struck out 16 times.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Enterprise made sure to put some runs up on the board against Anderson on Wednesday. The Hornets blew past the Cubs 24-7. That looming 24-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hornets yet this season.
Like Foothill, Enterprise also got a great game from a two-way player: Shelby Hopper. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Those earned runs marked the first that Hopper tossed this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-6.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carly Graham, who went a perfect 6-for-6 with five runs, six RBI, and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Sadie Ross, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-6.
Foothill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Enterprise, their record now sits at 4-5-1.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Foothill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Enterprise struggles in that department as they've averaged .347. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Foothill's way against Enterprise in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Foothill made off with a 21-0 win. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
