Softball Recap: Cascade Comes Up Short

Cascade had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it five. They came up short against the Snohomish Panthers, falling 10-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bruins of the 11-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Cascade saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellah Hamada, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

As for Snohomish, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

On Snohomish's side, Abby Edwards made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Edwards has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amelie Lopez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Best, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Cascade wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 21-8 loss against Shorecrest on the 24th. As for Snohomish, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Monroe on the 26th.
