Softball Game Preview: Glenmora Wildcats vs. Oak Hill Rams

The Glenmora Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Oak Hill Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Glenmora was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Plainview on Tuesday. Glenmora blew past Plainview 12-1. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Tegan Webster-Wilkes, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Ryals, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Glenmora always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Oak Hill waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Vikings. The game was the first time the Rams have beaten the Vikings on their field since March 15, 2016.

Braylee Cedus was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Madee Danzy also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Glenmora is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. Oak Hill's record is now 5-6.

Glenmora came up short against Oak Hill in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 9-5. Can Glenmora avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
