Basketball Recap: Salem Wildcats vs. East Marion Eagles
This season hasn't been kind to the Salem Wildcats, who are still winless after their 18th match. They had to suffer through a rough 61-26 loss at the hands of East Marion. That's two games in a row now that Salem has lost by exactly 35 points.
Lozavious Armstrong had an outrageously good game for East Marion as he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Armstrong has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Donny Anderson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Salem's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-18. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.6 points per game. As for East Marion, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.
Salem does not have any more games scheduled as of now. East Marion will head out on the road to take on the Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sacred Heart is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
