Volleyball Recap: Lakewood Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lakewood lost against Columbine back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Rebels. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Lakewood was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-21, 25-12.

Emerson Irving paced Lakewood's offense, picking up 13 kills. Irving got some help from Cecillia Morn and her 11 assists. Morgan Thompson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Columbine's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eva Chapman, who had ten digs and seven assists. That's the most digs Chapman has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Kunkel, who had 11 digs and one assist.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Columbine, their record is now 14-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lakewood is set to square off against their familiar foe Golden at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Columbine will challenge rival Chatfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
