Allie Dey leads a balanced attack to beat First Christian

Recap: Saint Francis Catholic Wolves vs. First Christian Lions

The Saint Francis Catholic Wolves can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They blew past First Christian 47-25. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Saint Francis Catholic had established a 21 point advantage.

Saint Francis Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allie Dey, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Dey is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Faith Fariborzian was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine assists and seven rebounds.

Despite the defeat, First Christian saw an underclassman step up: Reagan Davis scored 11 points along with two steals. That was a full 44% of First Christian's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

First Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Saint Francis Catholic pulled down 18 offensive rebounds.

Saint Francis Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for First Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Saint Francis Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Fightin' Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Union County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for First Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Wranglers at 6:00 p.m. Riverside Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
