Baseball Game Preview: Thomasville Bulldogs vs. North Stokes Vikings

The Thomasville Bulldogs will square off against the North Stokes Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Thomasville and North Rowan had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Everything went Thomasville's way against North Rowan on Tuesday as Thomasville made off with a 28-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now won four in a row.

Travail Barnes was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. He has become a key player for Thomasville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah McNeair, who scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Thomasville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .761. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, North Stokes came tearing into Tuesday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. While the Vikings didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

North Stokes pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Thomasville, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
