Softball Recap: Defiance Gets the Win

While Defiance's win against Shawnee wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs skirted past the Indians 3-1. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Addison Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Defiance's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Ordway, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Defiance's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Shawnee, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Defiance will challenge Lincolnview at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Shawnee, they will head out to take on Ottawa-Glandorf at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
