Volleyball Recap: Amherst Triumphs

The Amherst Broncos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Maywood/Hayes Center Wolves on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.

Addy Simmons paced Amherst's offense, picking up 12 kills. Simmons got some help from Mackenzie Cochran and her 17 assists. Simmons was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Amherst's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-6.

Amherst wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Southern Valley on the 30th. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Brady on the 30th.
