Soccer Game Preview: Concordia vs. Conestoga

Concordia is a perfect 4-0 against Conestoga since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs will host the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Concordia's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

While Concordia's victory against Holdrege wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs' defense stepped up to hand the Dusters a 1-0 shutout on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Concordia as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Abbi Gibbs, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Conestoga waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Pioneers. Conestoga's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Conestoga pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Concordia, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Concordia skirted past Conestoga 2-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
