Softball Recap: Lake Nona Comes Up Short

Lake Nona lost against Boone back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lake Nona Lions fell 9-5 to the Boone Braves. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maria Trujillo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Amaya Macapinlac was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Lake Nona now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Boone, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Nona will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jones at 6:30 p.m. on March 27th. As for Boone, they will take on Cornerstone Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
