Baseball Recap: Cleveland Takes a Loss

Cleveland lost against Lincoln back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Miles Whipp was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Whipp was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Whipp wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Arlo Copony, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Cleveland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season.

While Cleveland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
