Softball Game Preview: Gompers Panthers vs. Washington Trojans

The Gompers Panthers and the Washington Trojans, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Gompers has given up an average of 17.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gompers lost 21-13 to East Harlem last Wednesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Washington faced Randolph Campus in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Wednesday. The Trojans walked away with a 24-21 victory over the Cougars. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Gompers' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Washington, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Gompers suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Washington in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
