Soccer Game Preview: Miami Springs vs. Norland

The Miami Springs Golden Hawks will head out to challenge the Norland Vikings at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Miami Springs' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Miami Springs fell victim to Hialeah Gardens and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Gladiators, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Norland was not quite Booker T. Washington's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Tornadoes by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while the Tornadoes are ranked 164th).

Norland's goal came courtesy of Talya Cochran, who's now up to seven this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Norland and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Miami Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6-1.

Miami Springs suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Norland when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can Miami Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
